The Central PA College Fantasy Football League was founded in the summer of 2015 by the Founding Father. The Founding Father and a group of close friends and family, located in the heart of south-central Pennsylvania, were looking to share their passion for college football. The outcome was the Central PA College Fantasy Football League. What this group didn't realize was how much popularity college fantasy football would garner, morphing the league into what it is today.
Here's a timeline of events...
2025
One scoring adjustment for this season is that if the DST you start loses, they get -3 points subtracted from their score. Another change is to add some clarity on tie breakers in the the survivor pool; IF there is a tie out of the remaining teams in the survivor pool, the winner of the tie, and the team that advances to the next week of the survivor pool, is the team with the highest POINTS FOR up to that point in the season.
2024
One minor roster adjustment for this year - the maximum number of QB's allowed on a roster will INCREASE to 5 (was previously 4). One scoring adjustment for this season is that if the DST you start records the win, they get +5 points added to their score. Lastly, a NICFP (Not In College Football Playoff) bracket was implemented. This will be a winner-take-all bracket. The 8 teams that miss out on the main CFP will be matched up in a playoff style bracket.
2023
No changes implemented.
2022
In 2022, the league added a second QB to the active roster and adjusted the DST Total Yards Allowed scoring.
2021
For 2021, the conferences will be completely randomized. A third WR slot has been added to the active roster. Scoring for Total Yards Allowed has been added to DST scoring as a way to generate more value for DST. Most notably, the Lynn Bowden rule has been implemented, effective for the 2020 season and beyond. This rule states that any RB/WR/TE that STARTS TWO or more games at QB for their respective team will have their position switched to QB only, therefore losing their other position eligibility.
2020
No college fantasy football season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2019
In 2019, we expanded the player pool to include ALL FBS conferences, including Independents. The conferences will be chosen based on how teams finished from the previous season. Odd number finishers in one conference, even number finishers in another. The league entry fee increased $10 to accommodate more winning opportunities for the entire league. Most notably a weekly winner for the highest scoring team as well as a survivor pool lasting the entire regular season.
2018
The 2018 season was set up exactly like the 2017 season with sixteen total teams in the league and two divisions of eight teams. The one new update to the league brought us the addition of the Mountain West Conference to the player pool.
2017
Much like conference expansions across the college football landscape, 2017 was the year of major expansion for the Central PA CFF League. The league expanded to sixteen (16) teams. The league was divided up into two divisions, with eight (8) teams in each division. With half the players being fans of the premier college football program in Pennsylvania (Penn State), one division was comprised of all the PSU fans while the other division contains the "misfit" or non-PSU fans like Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue, Iowa State, etc. With this expansion, eight teams now made the playoffs and there are NO first round BYES in playoffs.
2016
In 2016, the league opened up its doors to dividing up the twelve teams into two division comprised of six teams each. Six teams still made the playoffs with the two division winners having first round BYES.
2015
The inaugural league was comprised of just twelve (12) teams. Six (6) of those teams made the playoffs with the top two seeds getting a first round BYE in the playoffs.
